This Cool Shield Heat Bond Carpet Iron patented, double-heat shield minimizes deformation of carpet backing and face yarn. The iron is user-friendly and fast acting. It works by melting heat bond tape, while maintaining the cooler top shield temperature. On the highest setting (425-degrees Fahrenheit) the Cool Shield only reaches a maximum heat shield temperature of 256-degrees Fahrenheit. An S-shaped heating element provides even heating of sole plate.
